ssh to login.toolforge.org hangs with "pledge: filesystem"
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Looks like this might be the same case as T410009 (except that I don't use vscode server and I'm not sure where the other sessions come from).

$ ssh -v jberkel@login.toolforge.org
debug1: Connecting to login.toolforge.org port 22.
debug1: Connection established.
...
Authenticated to login.toolforge.org ([2a02:ec80:a000:1::1c5]:22) using "publickey".
debug1: channel 0: new session [client-session] (inactive timeout: 0)
debug1: Requesting no-more-sessions@openssh.com
debug1: Entering interactive session.
debug1: pledge: filesystem

and then it just hangs.

Killed your sessions, you should be able to log in now:

taavi@tools-bastion-15:~ $ sudo loginctl terminate-user jberkel

I'm not sure where the other sessions come from

Seems to be this, running as the digero tool:

2162923 ? SNs 0:02 tmux
2162924 pts/25 SNs 0:00 \_ -bash
2205061 pts/25 SNl+ 0:02 \_ /data/project/digero/git/venv/bin/python3 /data/project/digero/git/venv/bin/snakemake pages_sqlite_db
2216682 pts/25 DNl+ 13:55 \_ /usr/bin/python3.13 /tmp/pex/unzipped_pexes/3/2476a29a8f94af48e3ab2c67c5aff069f0e5b57c wiktionary/parsed/xml/20260901/dump-xml-raw.parquet --output wiktionary/parsed/xml/20260901/pages-20260901.sqlite

Please run your jobs with https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Toolforge/Running_jobs instead of a tmux session on the shared bastions.

Yes, I need to convert that specific task to run in a pod, I forgot about it. Thanks!
