hey @Rscout apparently I also need acl*security because I still get permission denied when I try to open a security ticket... thank you!

No, you should inherit the acl*security permissions from the subgroup. It doesn't look like you were actually added to acl*security_sre, from what I can tell, so I've just now added you there: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/feed/7691725435721252493/. Please try to access some security tasks again and let us know how that goes.
