Scribunto error in infoboxes in Catalan wikipedia

Steps to replicate the issue (include links if applicable):

Open https://ca.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mateu_Morro_i_Marc%C3%A9

What happens?:

the infobox gives an error "Error de Lua a mw.lua a la línia 656: invalid value (nil) at index 1 in table for 'concat'." it happens to every article with an infobox (most import data from wikidata).

What should have happened instead?:

no error

Software version (on Special:Version page; skip for WMF-hosted wikis like Wikipedia):

Other information (browser name/version, screenshots, etc.):

No edit in any module or template related in the three days before the error. It began showing about 21.00 yesterday. It gets to all articles with infobox as they are edited. Now it affects more than 16 000 articles: https://w.wiki/VxjG . It seems related to Scribunto.

Regression from rELUAb109cb6e5866 (wmf.22): {{#invoke:}} now fails when a function returns nil before other values, which cawiki's Mòdul:Wikidades does for every missing property. Fix with test: https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/1347289

@thiemowmde could you review it? It needs a backport to wmf.22, and Tim is out until 8 October.

I'm afraid I don't know enough about the inner workings of the Scribunto codebase. Maybe @hoo does have time?
