Error Generating Thumbnail for 700 Mpx JPG
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Author: DIA.Keyser

I am unable to download the larger versions of a file. The file in question is Van Gogh's "De slaapkamer". I am only able to download the two smallest versions: 1024px, and 2048px. All other sizes result in the following error:

"Error generating thumbnail
Error creating thumbnail:"

When attempting to download the full resolution file, the top 100 or so rows of pixels will download, but then the rest of the image will be corrupt and display as grey.

I have received the same errors using Safari, Chrome, and Firefox, on Apple Macs running 10.7.

Version: wmf-deployment
Severity: minor

Note, it's a 700 MPx JPG, not interlaced.

I'm not sure what this bug is about exactly, do you expect the thumbs to work?
Surely you can't expect the original to work on all browsers (or any browser, maybe): it's a valid JPG and opens perfectly and very quickly locally (I tried gwenview which is not even the smartest).
