For the forthcoming Template Inspector to work, we will need a way to "hint" for the Inspector how the parameters of the VE should be used - we're intending for now for this to be a template-hinting extension that allows editors to specify in the wikitext source what the parameters are called and how they should be used, akin to the Template documentation template on Commons.

We should get this deployed everywhere this coming week.
I'd like see to a working demo of this feature and expanded documentation at [[mw:Extension:TemplateData]] before this is deployed elsewhere.
