phabricator.wikimedia.org kicks you out too soon
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Both Andre and Quim have noted that Phabricator will kick you out of your session, even whith the browser open in some phabricator.wikimedia.org page.

I will start counting now: I have been logged out between 16:30 and 17:30 ECT, and I just logged in at 17:30. Let's see when is the next time that I lose the session.

Ah, one factor I just tested:

  1. You are logged in to https://phabricator.wikimedia.org
  2. You go to http://phabricator.wikimedia.org because it's in the history of your browser or whatever.
  3. Now you go back to https. Logged out.

I will be very careful with https now, to check whether using https only you also get kicked out.

will kick you out of your session, even whith the browser open

For the records, this has only happened in Firefox 32 to me (I've set more restrictive settings there), not yet in Chrome 37.

I'm having this problem in Chrome 36.0.1985.143 for Debian.

Accessing http accidentally definitely kicks you out of the session, but there must be something else because from time to time I end up logged out just after clicking some Phabricator link. Still trying to find more patterns.

This seems to be indeed resolved.
