Technically 'my' probably does work here, but it may still make more sense to change it to something such as 'own edits' or the like just so it seems less awkward.

The current default is "$1 my edits" where $1 becomes "Show" or "Hide" depending on user preference and/or a URL parameter override.

I don't think this clarifies anything. We could change it to "Show/Hide my own edits", which can/should in turn be abbreviated to "Show/Hide my edits", which is exactly equal to the current string.

Plus, I've no idea how adding the word "own" could reduce the sense of WP:OWNership, and any such consideration is probably not relevant outside English.
