There is no consistent way to reliably access the descriptions from a file page. Also although the mobile uploads dashboard adds a plain text description the description may be wikitext.

For any images uploaded elsewhere - e.g. upload wizard or commons app, when viewed on the dashboard they show "No description" or non-human readable wikitext.

It would be great to have a consistent way of accessing the file description.
