automatically removed self from tasks?
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

I've received a few notifications that I've myself from subscriber aka CC list of a task.

At first wrote it off (I know I've clicked buttons in the interface by accident at least when browsing on android. maybe this was another accident) but now it happened again and I think it's time to investigate more. (see T373#23)

Is there any time when phab will automatically change subscriber list (with me as the person listed as making the change) even though I didn't actually make that change?

e.g. it could decide I don't need to be on task subscriber list if I'm already included in CC by some other route? (like project membership of project that task is in)

@jeremyb, this is the first time I hear anything like this. As far as I know, the only way to remove CCed users is editing the task. I don't see how users could be removed from CC by adding a comment or by another action.

Looking at your history I could only find two recurrences:

Do you remember clicking the Edit Task link here?

Anyway, most regular actions can be completed without needing to edit the task, using the dropdown menu in the comment. Can you use the comment UI, avoid the Edit Task UI, and see if you still find yourself unsubscribed from tasks?

Did this problem start recently? Wondering if this might be related to a policy change in Herald...

I couldn't find any way to de-subscribe a user via Herald.

No, didn't start recently I think.

Yes, I believe did happen when using "comment" action (didn't have to hit edit task).

I'll try to pay more attention next time.

I still haven't heard of any other case like this. @jeremyb, did this problem happen again, or have you been able to reproduce it?
