If a template is made translatable, {{template}} no longer works as expected. While this is hard to fix, Translate extension should provide out of the box the functionality of https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Template:Translatable_template.

This has never been supported. Bug 48891 might change that, but I'm desperately needing help from people being able to hack the parser.

I am going to repuspose this task. This might change when support for VisualEditor is added. In the mean time the recommended way is to use templates such as https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Template:Translatable_template
Translate extension should provide such facility out of the box, or at least make it easier than copying that template (which requires Lua).
