Newest post has newest timestamp

I just attempted to reply to one post within a tangent, but my new post was not placed either at the bottom of the tangent stack (expected) or directly underneath the post I was replying to (unexpected, but would make some sense). Instead, it went directly above an earlier reply of mine (see attachment) and stayed there even when I hard-refreshed.
