First edit to User:Profile didn't give user feedback

Description

Upon editing my User:Profile statement the first time upon pressing save I was returned to the page and it still said I had no statement. Refreshing the page surfaced it.

Guess there is a race condition?
Ideally the save should happen via the API to avoid a page reload altogether.
