REPORTS-68 Implement dynamic cache duration
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

This issue was converted from https://jira.toolserver.org/browse/REPORTS-68.
Summary: Implement dynamic cache duration
Issue type: Improvement - An improvement or enhancement to an existing feature or task.
Priority: Minor
Status: Open
Assignee: Merlijn van Deen <valhallasw@arctus.nl>

On Sun, 05 Aug 2012 16:23:21, Merlijn van Deen <valhallasw@arctus.nl> opened the following bug:

Currently, all reports use the same cache period, irrespective of
the wiki they run on. However, it would make more sense to cache
e.g. enwiki queries for much longer than, say, svwikibooks. One
reasonable option would be to cache reports for N*<query runtime> -
so a query that takes a day to run would stay cached for a month,
but a query that takes a second to run would be re-generated in 30
seconds.

Points to research: - what to do with queries that take longer than
a week? - display of the remaining duration to the user?
