GWToolset should add a change tag to upload log entries, and dummy history edits
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

Low priority issue, but it would be cool if there was an edit (change) tag on all log entries and edits made by the tool.

That would allow people to query for GWToolset actions more easily (including from say Special:Log) if they were so inclined, and it would be more consistent with other tools like oAuth which do that.

GWT don't write logs o_O. This should be fixed.

Uploads appear in the log. I think this is a request for a new tag in https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Tags for GWT actions. This seems a reasonable thing to do, though as all uploads appear in a GWT category, not a major improvement from an automation point of view.

I see no need to add a tag to GWT uploads, It is possible to use https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:Uploaded_with_GWToolset or the cat.

GWT Log at Special:Log was created, therefore i think this bug can be closed.
