https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/83221/ added a parameter to newarticletext, but VE doesn't pass it, so now when you try to use VE on a nonexistent page with vanilla messages (enwiki's newarticletext message doesn't use $1) you see a raw $1 in the edit notice.
