Hover doesn't work on some touch interfaces or flyout displays incorrectly.
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

Using the compact personal bar on a tablet is not quite possible. The username element works as a link. Tapping it shows the menu, but after a few moments the browser navigates to the user page.

(Of course this refers to MediaWiki desktop mode and not MobileFrontend.)

Amir, can you include platform/browser info? it seems to work on Chrome/Safari on iOS

Chrome and Firefox on ASUS Transformer Android 4.2.1 tablet.

ok its likely a difference in how android and iOS handle touch events then.

I'm seeing the same behaviour in Chrome and Firefox on a 2013 Nexus 7 running Android 4.4.2.

flyout display issues

long touch seems to trigger flyout, but not ideal. easy to accidentally trigger profile page link

I cannot use the drop-down from my iPad1 so I disabled this feature. There was no way to update the user preferences to turn it off once I realized I couldn't get to my watchlist either. If the drop-down freezes, there is no workaround, even though I selected the desktop version at the bottom of the page.

The feature is not currently made to work with the desktop site when viewed from touch devices. In the mean time you can either disable the feature or use the mobile site from your phone or tablet.
