Description

Steps to reproduce:

1.Open a page with VE
2.Open Math Inspector
3.Type \pi
4.Close the inspector

Observed Result:
The math function \pi is not getting parsed , appearing as a broken icon in Chrome and as "\pi" in firefox

Probably the same cause as T75786: [Regression pre-wmf10] upload.beta.wmflabs.org is throwing 503s so all images are appearing with a broken icon inside VE
