Decide on Google Code-in Grand Prize winners for Wikimedia (between Jan 19 and Jan 26, 2015)
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Wikimedia's org admins in GCI 2014 are currently Nemo, Quim and me (all CC'ed) so those might be the "core" folks who want to meet and forward the decision to Google in the end, with potential input from mentors etc.

From https://www.google-melange.com/gci/events/google/gci2014 :

  • January 19, 2015, 9:00 AM Pacific Time / 17:00 UTC: All work stops, Contest ends
  • January 26, 2015: Mentoring Organizations submit their grand prize winner nominees to Google Open Source Programs Office
  • February 2, 2015: Google Open Source Programs Office announces the grand prize winners via blog post

From https://www.google-melange.com/gci/document/show/gci_program/google/gci2014/terms_and_conditions :

  • 5.2 Selecting Finalist and Grand Prize Winners. Each open source organization will evaluate the work of the 10 highest scoring contestants who completed tasks for their organization and will select 5 of those contestants as Finalists and 2 of those Finalists as Grand Prize Winners for their organization. Each entry will be judged according to the following equally weighted factors: creativity, thoroughness, and quality of work.

(And obviously we are not allowed to tell students anything between Jan 19 and Feb 02 though they might be a bit impatient and ask us if decisions have been made.)
