Screencast with basic instructions. Ideally it should be short and we can call it "How to create a Wikipedia article in 3 minutes with Content Translation".
We need to figure out:
- Which languages use as an example ( do we want one screencast as an example, one that covers several translations, or several covering a single translation).
- Which languages to provide voice and/or subtitles for.
A possible script ( Amir outlined also some ideas):
- Get started:
- Log-in or create a Wikipedia account.
- Enable beta feature.
- Access the dashboard (where in-progress translations are kept), and start a translation.
- Basic features:
- Add each paragraph with a click. Formatting is preserved, and images can be added in one click.
- Translate as much as you want. The idea is to get started.
- Machine translation provides an initial text to improve. You can disable MT or discard it for a specific paragraph.
- Links and categories are automatically adapted.
- Progress on the translation is saved automatically so that you can resume later. Once you are happy with the result, you can publish it.
- Publish and keep editing it with the help of the community.
- Invite to try it!
