Show ‘View More Sizes' in Media Viewer
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Migrated from:

As a user, I can view the image in different sizes, so I can look at the size that best fits my needs.

This is one of the most frequent user requests from the thousands of survey responses we've processed so far, and it doesn't seem to be going away. The download panel offers an insufficient number of sizes to meet this need, and is not the right place to go to view them anyway. We need something closer to what our users expect from this tool.

Acceptance Criteria

  • Show a ‘View More Sizes’ section down in the meta-data panel, listing available thumbnail sizes.
  • Each size has a link that causes it to display the image in the selected size in the Media Viewer
  • From a development standpoint, we could simply take what is now on the file description page and add it below the description, where we have plenty of room.

I think that complaints about this are a manifestation of the lack of zoom. I would like to get feedback once the basic zoom feature is available.

Lowering priority as we do not plan to work on this anytime soon.

Mass-removing the Multimedia tag from MediaViewer tasks, as this is now being worked on by the Reading department, not Editing's Multimedia team.

Either this already exists (under "Download") or this is a duplicate of T77642: Show more image sizes in download panel or I don't get it.

Yeah, a lot of tasks were tracked in both Mingle and Bugzilla, and then both got auto-imported to Phabricator.
