if you want it to be mailman in general could we just have it be Wikimedia-Mailing-lists and not even #mailmanlists?

yes, we can. i just added the word "lists" because i expected most users to look for that when they are maybe not even sure they want "mailman", all they might know is "i want one of those lists" (we often have to explain differences betweeen exim aliases, mailman lists and google groups)

I wanted this mainly to be the project where people ask for new lists to be created. People who have the "list creator" password should be added. Those are non-ops people. It _might_ be a different project if people want ops to change server config, but i'm not even sure, i think projects per service are fine and it can all be in one. like components in BZ.

How is this project different from the already existing "Wikimedia > Mailing lists" component in Bugzilla, and how are they connected to / distinguished from each other after importing Bugzilla components?

T790: create mailing list "betacluster-alerts" is indeed a task that should have been filed at "Wikimedia > Mailing lists" component in Bugzilla

Can we archive this project and continue the business as usual in Bugzilla for a few weeks more, please?

my fault, I didn't know there was such a thing already or I would have waited

No problem. I have just archived it. Thank you all for your understanding. We are getting other requests that clash with existing Bugzilla projects/components and we are also asking them to wait.

well, true, but one difference i can think of would be that it hopefully could be one centralized place for things that before were spread out across that BZ compoinent and RT. all in one place instead of somethings that need ops in RT and some things done by volunteers in BZ. i didn't think about the component from BZ being imported anyways in that moment, so sorry for that. i understand why we should keep using BZ until we actually switch.. and then just move the RT tickets into the same project after we imported those. didn't mean to cause more problem

so, please remove/archive/delete it again, as if we are just reverting. sorry
