Do not display the Permission field in MediaViewer
Open, LowestPublic

Description

MediaViewer displays the contents of the Permission field of the information template in a box on the metadata panel. This information is rarely useful, and not consistent (can be the license, the rephrasing of the license in free text, the authors favorite reformulation of the license, the author's extra requirements such as attribution or notification (which, depending on the license, can be a requirement or just a courtesy, and it is usually not clear which) or proof of the license's correctness (such as an OTRS template). Most images don't have this information at all.

Due to the inconsistency this field does more to confuse the user than to transmit any intelligible message to him; in the few cases where it is useful (e.g. attribution) there is, or should be, a proper machine-readable way to express that condition without ambiguity. MediaViewer should stop displaying this field.

Mass-removing the Multimedia tag from MediaViewer tasks, as this is now being worked on by the Reading department, not Editing's Multimedia team.

Could use some input as to the balance between the tiny number of people who use this field for a specific purpose that would be useful to readers on other wikis, compared to the tiny number of people who are confused by the field as it is...not sure where we stand on this. Lowering priority due to small impact on both sides.
