I've just answered OTRS ticket 2014122710004432, where a user has the idea that fundraising banners should disappear after the user donates, for that particular fundraising banner's duration. I haven't verified this behaviour myself, but if the fundraising banner does indeed persist after a user donates, then that sounds like something we should fix.

We already do this. When a user lands at https://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Thank_You/en (or any of the other language versions) they get cookies to hide fundraising banners on all Wikimedia sites for several months. I've just confirmed this is still working. It's possible this user cleared their cookies, which will stop the banner from being hidden, but there isn't a lot we can do about that.
