Sometimes in the templates of infoboxes, we need to add special character. But how to add it if the toolbox is not available. It would be nice enhancement to add it.

Comment Actions
For templates fields special characters can be inserted with normal keyboard shortcuts - e.g. on Mac Option+z for Ω.
But having a toolbox available when editing templates' fields will be helpful.
Comment Actions
This will be possible once T52355: VisualEditor: Add support for editing templates' parameters as DOM elements ("visually"), including supporting nested templates is complete.
Comment Actions
Many of these inputs should be VE surfaces (not plain text boxes) which would solve this issue in those cases (e.g. the special character inserter is available in the image caption editor).
