Card appears twice after edit
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

  1. Visit https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/project/board/67/ (I guess any board will work).
  2. Find a card that's not assigned to anyone.
  3. Click on the pencil icon that's on the right of the card.
  4. In the edit popup, assign the card to someone and save.
  5. In the column where the card was, you'll see another updated card with the same name.

Expected:

  1. Only the updated card should show, the old card should disappear.

I followed your steps with this card from the Phabricator.org board and could not reproduce the problem...

Please provide browser (and maybe OS) information. Also, does this happen always? Or just sometimes / once?

Qgil changed the task status from Open to Stalled.Jan 14 2015, 4:16 PM

Stalling for now, but we have not heard about other cases like this.

Qgil claimed this task.

Resolving. If someone sees and hopefully can reproduce this problem, please reopen.

This is still happening to me. The browser is Firefox 35.0.1 and OS is Mac OS X 10.10.2. Please see the screenshot.

Qgil removed Qgil as the assignee of this task.Feb 5 2015, 7:13 PM
Qgil moved this task from Need Discussion to Upstreamed on the Phabricator (Upstream) board.

@bmansurov, we haven't heard about other cases. Can you still reproduce this problem?

Aklapper removed Aklapper as the assignee of this task.

I just tried with this very task and the steps given above but could not reproduce (Firefox 38.0.5 on Fedora 22).

I agree this time I was not able to fully re-produce the bug. As you can see from the screencast below, the first two times I tried it everything worked fine, but the third time I didn't see my username. Earlier (when I reported the bug, and yesterday) I would also see an extra card with my username on it. Btw, I'm using Google Chrome 43.0.2357.130 on Mac OS 10.10.3 (14D136).

Aklapper lowered the priority of this task from Low to Lowest.

I'm pretty sure that the upstream code to update workboard items has changed in the last 12 months and I still have not seen this happening myself. :(

@bmansurov: Has this still happened recently to you?

bmansurov claimed this task.

I haven't seen the issue for some time. Admittedly, I've been using the "Action" option inside tasks to move them on workboard. I'm closing the task as resolved.
