Description

In some cases, the gateway will perform currency conversion for us. We want to preserve this information as the "Settlement" currency. In most other cases, we want to do a rough conversion of the original contribution so we have realtime USD statistics.

This is especially useful for payments via AstroPay, who uses the 'tourist' conversion rate, a fair amount off from the rates we get from OANDA.

Hey @Ppena - can you weigh in on the importance of this? For astropay, apparently it's possibly quite a large discrepancy.

That's correct. Its important for Astropay but also to have a correct idea of how much money we have from our international donations, as the conversion we currently apply manually for the reconciliation is far from accurate.
