This would be useful to double-check assumptions, amongst other things. Currently creating a graph is expensive so one typically makes one graph for a given interval (for the multimedia graphs, that's typically the last 30 days) and then never looks at the larger view. For example, we checked the MediaViewer optout frequency after some feature release at the end of September, saw it drop, and assumed the feature was very helpful; when we created a full-history view for the retrospective, it revealed that there was a jump of the same magnitude before, which suggests the whole thing might have been an artefact (but it's pretty much impossible to figure out now).

A UI which shows a long timespan but allows quick and convenient zooming (limn kinda does that, minus the convenient part :) and makes it possible to "save" a zoom period via URL parameters or whatever other means would be nice. There are a few nice examples of that out there, like nvd3 or highcharts.
