Users that find a red link in the article may be interested in translating it from another language they know.
The main challenge is to identify which article a given red link represents. There are some possible strategies to figure that out:
- For redlinks that were generated by CX, a Wikidata Q-ID annotation can be added to indicate which concept they are referring to. This will be only useful for red links on articles that were created with CX.
- For regular red links, a search through Wikidata descriptions can be useful to identify some candidate articles. This will be only useful for articles that are missing in Wikipedia but have translated labels on Wikidata.
Combining the above approach we may not cover all red links, but will encourage translation through some which is expected to bring more users into the translation workflow.
