Can't go back from anchors in Android Beta Wikipedia App
Open, LowPublic

Description

On Android if the user goes to the page corresponding to http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobility_management
and then goes to e.g., section #Location_area, and then pushes Android's back button, he doesn't go back!

@Jidanni Thanks for the report. Is this about the mobile website or the mobile app?

It's clear from the task title that you mean the app. I only saw the description. Sorry about that.

iOS behaves the same: pressing Back button will return to the previously viewed article.

However, the browser back button will bring to the top of the article from a viewed section. A user might expect the same browser back button behavior from the Apps back butotn as in Mobile Web(and PC).

+1 user from one of our users through the Android support email:

On my Samsung Note20 Ultra, "clicking" on a popup for a reference brings up the full text of the reference entry, but "clicking" Back on the phone exits the entire article instead of returning to the point in the article where the reference is cited. Is there a way to exit the reference and return to where it was cited?
I have the same problem on both my devices: Samsung Note20 Ultra and Samsung Tab 6 Lite. Both devices have the same software:
Android version 12
One UI version 4.1
Wikipedia app Version 2.7.50419-r-2022-08-29
I'm unable to make a video of the process and problem.
