Import actions clutter updates lists
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

https://bugzillapreview.wmflabs.org/tag/wikimedia-general_and_unknown/ is full of October 24 fake events like

bzimport changed the edit policy for T7229: Cannot login to Betalabs , showing Login error:Wikipedia uses cookies to log in users. You have cookies disabled. Please enable them and try again..
Fri, Oct 24, 12:52 AM

Projects might soon be updated with real content if they're very active, but users coming back after a while will have their updates (in user profile) completely overwhelmed by import events.

Maybe that "bzimport changed the edit policy" actions can be saved in the real migration? This is the only "clutter" I can see, the rest are genuine comments posted.

Even if it can't be avoided, they are a minority next to legit comments updates, and that feed in project pages is a very specialized view that most users will not see anyway.

My profile in bugzillapreview has no clutter at all. What about yours?

This is our belief, because in the real migration tasks will be created directly with the same edit policy assigned to Maniphest by default (All Users can edit).

To be clear, it is not that we will work on the script to avoid that action, is that we believe that the same script in the real migration will not create that extra line.

Resolving as Declined, believing that this will not be a problem.

Can't tell, the preview seems to have been emptied (maybe T552 knows?).
