Bug in Illustrating Wikipedia brochure.pdf
Open, MediumPublic

I found a "bug" of sorts in the documentation -- on pages 6 and 7, the document refers to using "wikicode" without first introducing the term. Actually, this should properly be "wiki markup" since "wikicode" is not the term the community uses. If you do a Google search on the term "wikicode" get the mw:Help:Formatting page that doesn't include the term "wikicode" and also the proper m:WikiCode project, which is not wiki markup. This should likely be changed so that both mentions of "wikicode" are "wiki markup".

Hi @Fuzheado, thanks for taking the time to report this!

As this is on-wiki content on Commons, this might better brought up on the Talk page of that file. However, adding @AKoval_WMF here as she's one of the uploaders of that file. Let's see if we can sort this out. :)

Looking at the uploaders on I wonder if @TFlanagan-WMF could help and/or point to the source of that PDF?

The wiki version lives here and can easily be updated, especially as that tends to be the source text for new versions and translations.

I'll have to look around a bit for an editable source file.

I changed the wiki version to reflect the recommendation of this ticket.
