Images are displayed improperly on profile pages

Description

On test.wikipedia profiles for the Co-op, there are some display issues with profile images. First, they are positioned in a way such that the gray circular background peeks through at the bottom. For example, see:

But this does not always happen in the cases where images are portrait-style:

In general, the images on profiles do not appear centered.

Perhaps it would be best to simply remove the gray background entirely?

@Capt_Swing It might be best to just eliminate this circular frame and make it rectangular; I get the sense that it is causing more trouble than it is worth.
