Per https://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Resolution:Wikimedia_Foundation_Guiding_Principles#Freedom_and_open_source , it would be great to first investigate the FOSS tools available.

I know Parsoid already has a tool for this, https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Parsoid/Visual_Diffs_Testing . This may not be exactly what's needed, but I'm sure there are other options out there in addition.

Sorry, I thought this was about visual diffing. I see now it's about visual detection of controls, and then testing the interaction with them. I still support investigating the FOSS landscape more including Sikuli (people have gotten this working fully headless, see my comment, T56393#1085423).

It is time to promote Wikimedia-Hackathon-2015 activities in the program (training sessions and meetings) and main wiki page (hacking projects and other ongoing activities). Follow the instructions, please. If you have questions, about this message, ask here.

@dduvall and @zeljkofilipin looks like we can advertise Applitools to devs and designer then let them figure out whether they can be interested in. I don't think it is worth keeping this task under our umbrella and we should probably just close it.

Please confirm and promote this activity by assigning it to its owner, listing it or scheduling it at the Hackathon wiki page and by placing it in the right column at Wikimania-Hackathon-2015. Thank you!
