A tag to collect all video-related tasks

Who is going to go through incoming tickets and set that tag, so the search results would be complete? And what is the use case?

I guess most of the tickets will come from our team anyway, we will obviosuly tag our related tickets.
We will communicate this on video-l as soon as it is created.

Originally I was thinking to create a simple project, then I learned about subprojects etc. which could be useful for us. So we could have subprojects for handling issues about the video wiki, others for the mailinglists or another for the Schnittserver.

But then I thought that having so many projects maybe is overkill, so after looking at "tags" I thought that this would be a light-weight variant. We would just tag everything related to the video community with "video" and make it easy for us to find the related tasks, to manage and follow-up on them.

Currently I have two tasks in the pipeline I want to register as soon as the tag exists. They are part of the outcomes of the last video meeting https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiTV/Schnittserver/2015.02.

I'd like to see input here from the Multimedia team: If there are areas of intereference / collaboration when it comes to e.g. TimedMediaHandler or Wikimedia-Media-storage, plus the use of the Multimedia board. Or if I'm just overcomplicating things and see confusion that won't exist. :)

Could you "name" the team? I have a vague idea but always happy to know for sure.

then I learned about subprojects etc.

Uh, where? Link welcome, as https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Phabricator/Project_management states that subprojects are only planned. :)

that would at least be Fuzheado, Brion, me, Dan Dennedy (developer of the Schnittserver), most likely also Sebastiaan ter Burg, Prolineserver (developer of the Videoconvert tool on WMFlabs)... and hopefully many more soon.

I think there's value in having a separate Video project with its own boards. I pick up volunteer video-related tasks to put on the Multimedia boards on a regular basis, because our team is expected to maintain TimedMediaHandler as well as the related core components and as such we should review volunteer contributions. But that's as far as our team's focus on video goes for the forseeable future. Therefore I don't think that merging the work done on video with all the Multimedia boards, meetings and reporting is a good idea. It only works if it's one of our core goals and it just isn't at the moment.

Thanks.
If anyone volunteers to associate existing tasks with that project I am happy to create the project.

Does anyone volunteer to associate existing tasks with that project?

Hi,

what is the status here?
Can we *PLEASE* get this done - my list of bugs I need to file and assign is growing bigger and I have some really urgent things to get done!

Thanks!

I can only handle the new bugs I will create.

"Video" is generic to the point it should be a tag. It would also conflict with Extension:Video. If this is focused on Wikimedia projects I'd prefer the name "Wikimedia-Video".

Wikimedia-Video is fine for me.

I would appreciate it if we could get this started now.
