[Task] Avoid formatting in italics
Open, MediumPublic

Description

we use italics to format 'no value' and 'some value', and for language fallback indictor text, among other things.

italics do not work well nor are suitable for all languages. [1] (also is a bit weird in arabic scripts)

although they are somewhat 'nice' in latin script, we should generally avoid them (e.g. avoid font-style: italic). we might be able to use <em> instead or something else entirely, but should make sure it is something that can be handled appropriately in those languages.

Doesn't that depend on the font and isn't <em> supposed to help compared to <i>?
