The definitions for metrics listed on https://metrics.wmflabs.org/metrics/ are written in a technical way for the sake of precision. This is fine, as long as there's also a plain-language version available that users can find (see related @T93659). In some cases the definitions at Research:Metrics_standardization could be supplemented with accurate but simpler definitions (with examples) in learning patterns.
Some metrics, like bytes added, have direct analogues in a specific Global metrics learning pattern, but others like rolling active editor don't. These metrics need a plain language definition. More learning patterns is probably the way to go here.
