I've seen two users confuse the purpose of Flow's hide link, and hiding their own comments so that they could stop receiving echo notifications for the threads where they left a comment (both users are sysops): on this talk page and on this topic.

The watchlist star might help. Also adding some text content to the moderation modal might help as well.

I found out that when this confusion happened, one of them was trying to get rid of the problem described on T95025, and the hide link looked like the new "Flow way" to do it (which it is not!).
