Popup for newly added cite-by-url citation doesn't show full citation
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I was testing the new cite-by-url tool, and I found on both Iceweasel and Chrome (on Debian Jessie) that sometimes a newly looked up citation doesn't display correctly.

Here's what I did:

  • Navigate to a random article
  • Click the citation icon
  • Paste and lookup this url: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/05/style/no-kids-for-me-thanks.html?ref=fashion&_r=0
  • Click Insert
  • The citation inspector (is that the term?) pops immediately, but it takes a fraction of a second before the text of the rendered citation shows up inside it, and the popup does not resize to fit the content. (Clicking elsewhere and then clicking that citation again will result in a properly rendered popup.)

Here's what it looks like when it renders properly:

I know what's going on. There are a couple of fixes on the way that will help with this, and I'll submit a specific fix soon.

Mvolz moved this task from Production to Extension on the Citoid board.

Okay this should be fixed now in master with the state of Citoid extension now. I can't reproduce this anymore on master and on beta labs. It should be in production soon.
