In iOS on desktop, typing "{{" opens the template dialog off screen
Closed, ResolvedPublic8 Estimated Story Points

Description

Safari on iOS 8.2 on iPad in landscape.

I go to fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montréal.
In the middle of this long article, on a section, I click modifier.
I get the Web visual editor.
I edit the article...

I click somewhere in the article, and I type "{{".
Usually, this brings the dialog for calling a template.
But, sometimes, this does not bring any visible dialog, because in fact the dialog comes several screens more up.

It would be nice to fix this bug.

Thank you.

This bug is a different issue.
The opposite issue, in a way.

Here, no dialog is shown, and no scrolling occurs — as far as I noticed.

In the other issue, the dialog is shown, and scrolling occurs.

On review, this works fine on the actual mobile site. Consequently, I'm de-prioritising this, as we don't encourage people on mobile devices to use the desktop site.

Irrespective of the fact that using the desktop site on a mobile browser is not recommended, this problem also no longer happens—typing {{ in the visual editor opens the dialogue in the correct place, even on very long articles.
