Alex in WM FR has already reached out to Lyon, with plans to meet face to face with Lyon as well as Paris and maybe another market.

Alex is drafting verbiage that could be sent along to other chapters, and will have me peer review the verbiage before he translates back into French (non-French places would get it in English, presumably).

Hello Adam!

What do you think of:

//Hello everyone,

Wikimedia France organizes its European Hackathon in Lyon from 23rd to 25th of May. For 3 days, over 200 coders from around the world are gathered to develop Wikimedia's projects, such as the most known, Wikipedia.

On this occasion we really want to focus on mobile development and we believe that CocoaHeads are a great relay to help us develop our tools and thus make access to all human knowledge easier.

Here is a page describing all the projects we want to work on during the Hackathon:
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Hackathon_2015/Mobile_apps

The major areas are:

  • Give the users of the app the ability to add a small description to the page
  • Adding watchlist on the app
  • Create Wikiradio
  • Have an app extension

For CocoaHeads' coders this hackathon is an opportunity to meet coders from around the world but also to help us develop Wikipedia, a tool that everyone uses.
We can also teach one another new coding techniques. :)

Can you relay an invitation from us to your mailing list? The link to register is here:

Many greetings,
