PHP parser and Parsoid behavior difference on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:SSastry_%28WMF%29/Category_Test explains what is going on here. Look at the wikitext for that page, and then inspect the HTML .

A little baffling wrt the newlines .. but, I suppose a lot of pages out there probably now depend on that behavior so we may have to fix it in Parsoid.

This is now fixed in Parsoid master. This will probably be in production next week.
