Must ensure that we can track menu clicks and searches--purpose is to track impact on both.
@Jdlrobson 2 things have changed thinking here.
- turns out we can launch the search+menu header without a new page load (this was the deal-breaker for current alpha header). Given that, I want to test it and see if it improves menu clicks without damaging search.
The "new" header design shrinks the search bar, so we could then have a good alternative to compare it to.
Basically, for just a little bit of work, we can get numbers on a viable experiment rather than throwing it out before we test it. If this doesn't shrink searches and increases menu clicks, it might be an improvement over the existing header. We could promote it and build any improvements on top of it.
