Consult on Kanban for Readership
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

There is interest from some mobile team members about Kanban.

"I've been reading into Kanban and it is very interesting and it seems a bit more loose and I think it could be a very good fit for small teams like Gather, and maybe Readership."

From what I heard, I think it would be useful to present:
-basic principles
-what type of team/product works well with Kanban
-pros and cons vis a vis scrum
-how a team would evaluate how well Kanban is working for them

Thanks @KLans_WMF pretty interested in this myself.

Since we were looking at adding structure to the "work board" for iOS, maybe it just makes sense to have one continuous flow for us as well.

To @Fjalapeno's point, besides the kanban session (which I totally want) it may be interesting to think also how we could do scrum only on one board (and if it would be manageable, useful, better or worse).

KLans_WMF set Security to None.
KLans_WMF moved this task from To Triage to General backlog on the Team-Practices board.

From Corey:

Hey Kristen do you think we would be able to have the Kanban discussion sometime between now and the end of the unstructured sprint?

Thinking if we want to do it, “sprint 58” seems like it would be a good time to implement (first real work post-hackathon)
