Event Timeline
I'm not sure that paper-based communication is ideal for online communities, but if you want to update this, then it will require mostly small changes to the text:
- On the outside, it will need changes to the list of team names and assignments. For example, Keegan will be finished with SUL by Wikimania.
- Inside, the first two panels need changed to reflect the re-org. (“Product” and “Engineering” don’t exist; we are no longer part of the Product department.) The third panel, “Our activities”, does not need any significant changes.
If you want to do this, my recommendation is that you ask Heather to start from scratch in terms of design and layout. Realistically, I don't think we'll be able to tap the same volunteers as last year.
If you want to consider alternatives, then a business card with a URL and QR code for the CEP page at mw.org or Meta might be just as useful. Most of the text in this is from that page anyway.
Also, if the team's name changes (to be less easily confused with the department's name), then the name on the front panel and throughout will need to be changed, too. The uncertainty around whether that will happen is one of the reasons that it might not make sense to print paper flyers.
Can you make a couple of tasks for this based on your bullet points and assign them to me? Need to get on this during May and we should assign the specific tasks and have them here until they are completed. I'll review and re-assign if necessary, but you're welcome to make this my task at the moment.
Re: paper - as we're going to have at table at Wikimania, so it's appropriate to have something people can pick up (we probably just do not need too many given the QR codes, and Trees).
