Description

test.wikipedia.beta.wmflabs.org should be the Beta version of test.wikipedia.org. test.wikimedia.org (with an m) does not exist in production.

The beta cluster has a testwiki database. The router recognize the wikiPedia and wikiMedia flavors. What is missing is the mobile version for the wikiMedia domain.

Turns out there is no DNS entry for the mobile wikiMedia test.m.wikimedia.beta.wmflabs.org. The entries are set on https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:NovaAddress and there is no wildcard for the *.m.wikiMedia.beta.wmflabs.org.

So it seems to me the issue is with the desktop site redirecting from wikiPedia to wikiMedia. Might just be the canonical URL that needs a tweak in operations/mediawiki-config.git or an issue with the hostname -> db router.

Beta is right, production wiki should be renamed. Also, I sorted out the *.m.wikimedia.beta.wmflabs.org thing for another recent task.
