Description

Steps to reproduce:

1.Open a page with VE
2.Click on "Cite" fro the toolbar
3.While the context menu for the citation is open , from the toolbar click on Insert>References list

Observed Result:
There is an error in the console : Offset could not be translated to a DOM element

This doesn't happen any more, so was presumably fixed in the intervening three years.
