Changing the second word in bold sequence unbolds the previous word
Closed, ResolvedPublic8 Story Points

Description

Observed on mediawiki.org, using latest stable Chrome:

  1. Edit or create a line of plain text.
  2. Bold the first word.
  3. Place cursor before first word.
  4. Enter new word in front. Observe how this word is also bold (as it should be).
  5. Move cursor and alter the (now) second word.

Expected:
First word remains bolded.

Actual:
First word changed and is no longer bold.

I suspect this may be a data model corruption, or a something the browser does natively already but undetected by VisualEditor.

Attached: 9 second clip observing this bug.
