I can think of one particular situation and that is one in which the
community in that particular wiki decides that Bonnie should be merged into
Bonnie & Clyde. As things stand right now that would be the policy on many
wikis, including English Wikipedia. It is not our place here to make
policy for these communities, rather we are to support them.

Why don't we just display a notice at the top of the page "Redirected from
XXX" like we do on desktop?
