The only solution to our dilemma offered so far by newspapers.com is that of directly contacting ProQuest about a subscription to the website at the link below:

Apparently, newspapers.com, to believe the email, wants us to order a subscriprion to the library edition of the site from ProQuest via a direct request from the latter that can be made here: http://www.proquest.com/libraries/academic/news-newspapers/Newspaperscom-Library-Edition.html
