It looks like the JSON being returned does not include any valid language links.

At some point the results of the map were put into a Set to unique items, but that's not what ended up being committed.

@cmadeo I had thought when we talked about this in the meeting that this ticket was focused on the user being able to easily find language variants when choosing a different language to view the same article in, which seemed like a great idea, since currently the variants all appear at the bottom of the list of possible choices.

@camadeo We currently determine the user's Chinese variant by looking at the variant set in the OS.

Thank you Carolyn!
I know that alerting the user to variants for other languages is another ticket, but I am considering this the "Show alert for new language variants" ticket.
Mar 12 2021
Every language with variants has a default variant that is used if no other variant can be guessed for the user. This has already been in place for Chinese and Serbian in the shipping app for some time.
With the changes for language variants, this should work as described in the original report (once the language variants flag is turned on in the app).
Jan 18 2021
From initial investigation, it looks like all of these variants should be able to be supported.
Jan 6 2021
It appears that iOS does support the scripts for Inuktitut Syllabics and Tachelhit Tifinagh.
Jan 5 2021
The current language variant support in the app includes Serbian variants. So, at the very least we should be able to support Serbian.
